SP5 Raymond H. Knight, 25, U.S. Army, born in Iowa January 27, 1942, was killed in action on March 25, 1967. Knight served as a Combat Engineer with 4th Battalion, 4th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War. While his unit was conducting a minesweeping operation in Tây Ninh Province, they were ambushed by Viet Cong Forces. Amidst the chaos, Knight attempted to reach a cover position but was struck by enemy small arms fire and fell on the battlefield. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
