In Memory OfSMSgt Derek R. Ronning

SMSgt Derek R. Ronning, 56, U.S. Air Force, born June 30, 1968, died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on December 17, 2024. A 26-year Career Enlisted Aviator, Ronning flew aboard AWACS, Looking Glass, and Rivet Joint aircraft, earning the Air Medal and a Joint Service Commendation Medal with valor. In retirement, he kept serving as a 911 dispatcher, helping people on their worst days. A lover of the Beatles and a good dad joke, he asked only that we be kind to one another. He is survived by his parents and sister. Rest easy, Airman. Til Valhalla, Brother!
