SK3 Roy L. Kilgore, 76, U.S. Navy, born January 12, 1927, passed away on January 5, 2004. Kilgore was a Storekeeper on the USS Fanshaw Bay (CVE-70) and the USS Montauk (LSV-6) in the Pacific Theater of WWII. There, he was tasked with ensuring the vessel had fresh provisions and that the engine room was never short on spare parts. Kilgore was a man of faith and very involved in his community. He was minister of music, a lifelong member of the Kiwanis, and a volunteer at the local elementary school. Fair winds and following seas, Shipmate! Til Valhalla, Brother!
