In Memory OfSGT William R. Fritsche

SGT William R. Fritsche, 23, U.S. Army, born February 10, 1984, was killed in action on July 29, 2007. Fritsche was an Infantryman with 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team in Afghanistan. While on an intelligence-gathering operation in the Nuristan Province, his unit was attacked by Taliban forces. He quickly moved into position to provide cover for his men. During the brutal fight, Fritsche and his Troop Commander were mortally wounded by enemy small arms fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero!
