SGT William E. Allmon, 25, U.S. Army, born June 24, 1982, was killed in action on April 12, 2008. Allmon was a Combat Engineer with 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, and deployed to the Middle East. In Iraq, he conducted route-clearing missions to sweep Baghdad’s streets of roadside bombs and ensure safe passage for our troops. While on a mounted patrol, Allmon passed away when an IED struck his vehicle. For his service, he was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
