In Memory OfSGT Salvador A. Silva

SGT Salvador A. Silva, 64, U.S. Army, born August 6, 1948, passed away from ALS on January 28, 2013. Silva served with 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam. While on a sweeping mission, his unit was ambushed by NVA troops. He quickly laid down suppressing fire, allowing his squadmates to draw back. Silva next repeatedly left cover to bring ammo to each of his men. He then began carrying the wounded to safety until the fight was over. For his service, Silva earned a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and the Silver Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
