26, 2024. Dacosta was an Infantryman with 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Mountain), 10th Mountain Division, and deployed to Kuwait for Operation Spartan Shield. There, he was part of Task Force Avalanche to promote regional security and support ongoing counterinsurgency efforts in Iraq and Syria. Dacosta was an ambitious man who never shied away from a challenge. He is remembered for his welcoming nature, goofy sense of humor, and strong moral compass. Rest easy, Soldier!
