SGT Luis A. Ibarra, 74, U.S. Army, born August 2, 1946, passed away on January 2, 2021. Ibarra served with the 5th Infantry Division and deployed to fight the spread of Communism in Vietnam. After the war, Ibarra continued serving our country for 37 years in civil service at Fort Carson. Upon returning to civilian life, Ibarra started a career in radio. He became a popular DJ at a Latino station, "La Fiebre 94.7 FM," and hosted one of the only Tejano music shows in Colorado. For his service, he earned the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero!
