In Memory OfSGT John R. Phillips

SGT John R. Phillips, 79, U.S. Army, born January 29, 1931, passed away from health complications on April 29, 2010. Drafted in 1952, Phillips trained at Fort Jackson and shipped to Korea, where he served as a tank crewman with an artillery unit from 1952 to 1954. A devout man of faith, he served his Hebron Baptist Church as a deacon and drove a school bus for local children for more than a decade. He loved God, his community, and above all the family he gave his life to. He is survived by his wife, Nelda, their children, and grandchildren. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
