In Memory OfSGT Charles A. Heekin

SGT Charles A. Heekin, 28, U.S. Army, born January 8, 1987, lost the battle within on March 26, 2015. Heekin was an Infantryman with 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment (Stryker) in Iraq, where he fought in the infamous Battle of Sadr City. He then deployed to Afghanistan with 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, and was severely wounded at the hands of the Taliban in Logar Province. Heekin was a fearless man who was always willing to put his life on the line to protect his brothers-in-arms. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
