October 12, 1941 - March 24, 1969

SFC Jimmy Grant Freeman, 27, U.S. Army, born in Alabama October 12, 1941, was killed in action on March 24, 1969. In Vietnam, Freeman was an Infantryman with MACV, Advisory Group 71. While stationed at a base in Kien Hoa, his unit was attacked by VC forces. Freeman immediately ran to an exposed position to establish contact with the Tactical Operations Center. He stayed on the radio, calling in air strikes until he was hit by enemy fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and the Silver Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
