SFC Christopher D. Henderson, 35, U.S. Army, born in Oregon May 18, 1972, was killed in action on June 17, 2007. After serving as an Infantryman with the 101st and the 82nd Airborne in Egypt, Kosovo, Bosnia, and Kuwait, Henderson deployed to Afghanistan with 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division (Transition Team). There, his unit was driving through Kandahar when an IED struck the Humvee he was riding in. Henderson and two fellow soldiers did not survive the blast. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
