In Memory OfS1C Kenneth L. Geiger

S1C Kenneth L. Geiger, 94, U.S. Navy, born July 4, 1925, in Harrisburg, PA, passed away from health complications on October 19, 2019. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve in 1943, serving in the European Theater aboard the USS LCT-648. On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Pete was part of the largest seaborne invasion in history, driving his landing craft onto the beaches of Normandy under heavy fire, then returning to evacuate the wounded. His LCT was destroyed, but he continued his mission on another vessel. After the war, Pete worked as a warehouseman and was married to Frances J. Geiger. Fair winds and following seas, Shipmate!
