S Sgt Eugene J. Darrigan, 26, United States Army Air Forces, born November 7, 1917, was Killed in Action (KIA) on March 11, 1944. Darrigan served as a Radio Operator aboard a B-24D Liberator, part of the 320th Bombardment Squadron, known as the Jolly Rogers, flying combat missions in the Pacific Theater. Darrigan was known in his hometown as a volunteer firefighter, deeply connected to his community and always ready to serve. He is survived by his wife, Florence, and son, Thomas. Til Valhalla, Airman.
