PVT William J. Brown, 23, U.S.M.C., born October 8, 1944, was killed in action on December 27, 1967. Brown was a Rifleman with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment in Vietnam. During Operation Badger Tooth, his unit was sent on a search-and-destroy mission in Quảng Trá». While trudging through the infamous "Street Without Joy," they were ambushed by NVA troops. The enemy eventually withdrew, but Brown and 47 fellow Marines were killed in the brutal attack, making it a very costly victory. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine!
