In Memory OfPVT Robert D. George

PVT Robert D. George, 94, U.S. Army, born January 19, 1925, passed away on May 5, 2019. In WWII, George served as an Infantry Cannon Crewman with 1st Battalion, 474th Infantry Regiment, and deployed to the European Theater. There, he engaged German troops in mountain warfare and amphibious assaults to liberate France and drive Axis forces east over the Alps. After the war, George played an essential role in maintaining control over the fallen Third Reich and helped ensure a stable transition to peace was possible. Rest easy, Soldier!
