PVT John P. Moser, 22, U.S. Army, born August 30, 1921, was killed in action on February 18, 1944. Moser served with 1st Special Service Force and deployed to the European Theater of WWII. During the Battle of Anzio, his squadron held a section of the beachhead, maintaining defensive positions while actively sending out patrols to recon enemy movements and disrupt opposing forces. During an intense skirmish with the Germans, Moser passed away when he was hit by enemy fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
