PV2 Jason L. Sparks, 19, U.S. Army, born in Florida June 22, 1985, was killed in action on September 8, 2004. Sparks served as an Infantryman with 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Less than a week into his tour, he was manning the turret of a Humvee while on a patrol west of Fallujah when his unit was ambushed by insurgents. Sparks passed away after being hit by a sniper. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
