In Memory OfPO1 Leonard Mello

PO1 Leonard Mello, 75, U.S. Navy, born in Massachusetts June 12, 1945, passed
away on April 15, 2021. In Vietnam, Mello served as a Plankowner aboard the OSS
Ogden (LPS-5) and supported amphibious combat operations as part of the
Seventh Fleet. He was then assigned to Mobile Construction Battalion 12 and
attached to Marine units to participate in multiple combat missions. After the war,
Mello continued to serve our country in the Naval Reserve and the Massachusetts
