PFC Travis C. Zimmerman, 19, U.S. Army, born in Pennsylvania October 26, 1986,
was killed in action April 22, 2006. Zimmerman was an Infantryman with 101st
Airborne Division and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. While on a recon
patrol in Baghdad, he passed away after being struck by an IED. Zimmerman was a
caring man. Whether telling jokes to make his squadmates smile or sharing his
food with a hedgehog he found in the Green Zone, he put others' needs first. For
his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til
