February 15, 1919 - July 12, 1963

PFC Theodore W. Carlson, 44, U.S. Army, born February 15, 1919, lost the battle within on July 12, 1963. In WWII, Carlson was a Rifleman with 3rd Infantry Division. While in France, his unit was attacked by enemy artillery and took cover in a forest. As he scouted a safe route forward, a German machine gun opened fire. Carlson was hit multiple times but he made it back to an aid station. Once he healed, he was transferred to 9th Air Force, as a Squadron Carpenter until the war ended. For his service, Carlson earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
