In Memory OfPFC Rodger E. Fields

January 16, 1930 - December 1, 1950

PFC Rodger E. Fields, 20, U.S Army, born January 16, 1930, was killed in action on December 1, 1950. Fields was a Heavy Weapons Infantryman with 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment in Korea. During the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir, he and over 2,000 of his fellow soldiers lost their lives when they were encircled and attacked by Chinese forces. Listed as MIA for 74 years, in May of 2025, Fields' remains were identified via DNA, and he was laid to rest in his home state of Kentucky. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart.
