PFC Richard N. Seglem, 20, U.S. Army, born in Kansas July 12, 1950, was killed in action on September 24, 1970. Seglem was a Light Weapons Infantryman with 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. After his unit had made camp, he was ordered to move his gun emplacement outside the perimeter to an area where enemies would likely pass. While setting up his defensive position, Seglem was hit by small arms fire and passed away. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
