PFC Michael R. Dinterman, 18, U.S. Army, born in Maryland November 7, 1989,
passed away from combat-related injuries on September 6, 2008. Dinterman
served as an Infantryman with 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry
Division and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While
conducting a dismounted patrol in Kunar Province, his unit was attacked by
insurgents. Dinterman was hit by enemy fire and passed away from his injuries. For
his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til
Valhalla, Brother!
