PFC Jerry J. Page, 18, U.S. Army, born in Ohio February 17, 1932, died from combat-related injuries on February 9, 1951. Page was an Infantryman with 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division in the Korean War. While on a recon-in- force operation in Sangju, Chinese forces fired an avalanche of rockets, one of which hit right next to his foxhole. Page, critically wounded in the blast, was evacuated from the battle and brought to a hospital in Japan, where he passed the next day. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero!
