PFC Harry H. Liddle Jr., 21, U.S. Army, born December 13, 1930, was killed in action on June 11, 1952. In the Korean War, Liddle was an Infantryman with 2nd Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment. His unit was tasked with defending Hill 255, a critical position which offered U.S. forces vital observation, defensive strength, and control over the surrounding terrain. After a brutal day of fighting, Liddle was retrieving fallen soldiers and equipment when he was directly hit by an enemy mortar. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Rest easy, Hero!
