PFC Devin J. Grella, 21, U.S. Army, born in Ohio July 20, 1983, was killed in action
on September 6, 2004. Grella was a Motor Transport Operator with 706th
Transportation Company and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom, delivering
much-needed supplies to our troops in combat zones. While on a mission to
resupply a group of Marines in Fallujah, his convoy encountered heavy enemy
small arms and sniper fire. Grella passed away when an IED was detonated. For his
service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til
