PFC Danny M. Gray, 20, U.S. Army, born June 23, 1948, was killed in action on October 30, 1968. Gray was an Infantryman with 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War. While on patrol in Bình Dương, his unit was tracking an enemy squad through a rice paddy when he came upon two Viet Cong hiding in the stalks. Gray quickly took out one of the troops but was mortally wounded when the other returned fire. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and the Silver Star. Rest easy, Hero!
