PFC Bazel Anderson, 89, U.S. Army, born in Kentucky December 27, 1923, passed away on January 27, 2013. Anderson was with 29th Infantry Division and participated in the most important operations of WWII. He was with the first wave to storm the beach at Normandy and continued west, fighting in the Battle of Saint-Lô, the Rhineland Campaign, and the Battle of the Bulge. Anderson took everything the Germans had to throw at him and emerged from every engagement without a scratch. For his service, he earned five Bronze Stars. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
