In Memory OfPFC Barrett L. Austin

PFC Barrett L. Austin, 20, U.S. Army, born November 10, 1992, died from combat- related injuries on April 21, 2013. Austin was a Combat Engineer with 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division in Afghanistan. There, he helped support NATO operations and promote regional stability. While on a route clearance mission, Austin was severely wounded when an IED struck his vehicle. He was rushed to a U.S. hospital in Germany, but passed from his injuries soon after. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother!
