Patrolman Allen W. Gibson Jr., 25, Waverly Police Department, born in Virginia May 4, 1972, passed away from injuries sustained in the line of duty on April 25, 1998. Eager to protect and serve, Gibson began a career in law enforcement as a Patrolman and was determined to clean up his town. Although he was only with the department for two months, Gibson is remembered for his bravery and unwavering dedication to his community.
