In Memory OfMSG Edgar W. Hardy
December 5, 1913 - May 11, 1951
MSG Edgar W. Hardy, 37, U.S. Army, born December 5, 1913, passed away in a
POW camp on May 11, 1951. After serving as a Paratrooper in WWII, Hardy became
an Infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment in the Korean War. During
the Battle of Chochiwon, his unit was overrun by the KPA and forced to withdraw.
During the chaos, Hardy was captured and sent to a POW camp in An-Dong. After
months of brutal internment, he passed away from medical conditions. For his
service, he earned a Purple Heart and the POW Medal. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla,
