MSG David R. Shannon II, 49, U.S. Army, born August 20, 1970, passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2020. He served 22 years in the Army, deploying to Iraq with the 3rd Infantry 1/15th unit as a Career Counselor and welder, and completed two tours in Korea. Master Sergeant Shannon was highly regarded for his leadership and dedication, earning all excellent NCOERs and rapid promotions. Beyond his distinguished service, David was a devoted husband and father of two, known for his love of hunting and commitment to helping fellow soldiers. He retired to spend more time with his family, leaving a legacy of selfless service and compassion. Rest easy, Soldier! Til Valhalla, Brother!
