Master Trooper Larry W. Ward, 68, Virginia State Police (VSP), born July 4, 1951, passed away from cancer on September 29, 2019. For 28 years, Ward served on the VSP, enforcing traffic laws, investigating various crimes, and escorting high-level figures. In addition to law enforcement, he was also an advisor to the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad. Ward enjoyed boating, hunting, and cruising in his Corvette. He was an active church member, a youth basketball referee, a great friend, and a true pillar of his community. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla, Brother!
