MAJ Steward A. McGurk, 34, U.S. Army, born August 14, 1984, lost the battle within on December 12, 2018. McGurk served as an EOD Technician 18th Combat Sustainment Battalion and 752nd Explosive Ordnance Company in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Upon returning from the war, he became a Foreign Area Officer and worked with various Embassies in Taiwan. His final assignment was with the Defense Intelligence Agency in Mongolia as part of a team dedicated to monitoring Chinese activities in Southeast Asia. For his service, he earned the Bronze Star.
