In Memory Of

Lt Col Darel D. Leetun, 33, U.S. Air Force, born in North Dakota December 24,
1932, was killed in action on September 17, 1966. Leetun was an F-105 Pilot in
Vietnam and flew nearly 100 missions with 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron. After
leading a bombing mission, he passed away when he was shot down over Hanoi.
Listed as MIA for 39 years, Leetun was identified via DNA and laid to rest in
Arlington National Cemetery. He earned a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, three
Distinguished Flying Crosses, and the Air Force Cross. Fly high, Hero! Til Valhalla,
