In Memory OfLieutenant Zachary A. Slavin

May 17, 1958 - June 14, 2022

Lieutenant Zachary A. Slavin, 64, New York Police Department, born in New York
May 17, 1958, passed away from 9/11-related cancer on June 14, 2022. Slavin
proudly served the city of New York for over 20 years. After the Twin Towers fell on
9/11, he helped dig through the rubble and rescue survivors trapped in the
wreckage. Slavin spent the next several months at ground zero, assisting in
cleanup efforts and combing through the debris to find missing persons and give
closure to grieving families. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla,
Brother!

Message from the LegacyGuardian, Rick Tully, retired NYPD Lieutenant:
“I was able to deliver the plaque today to Mrs. Slavin. She was so very appreciative to receive it. We had a nice talk about Zachary, as I was playing with her rescue dog, Arlo. Mrs. Slavin’s children were not home at the time of the delivery, but she is excited about showing it to them when they come by. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you with this extraordinary project.
