Lieutenant Trent A. Kirk, 39, Memphis Fire Department, born in Tennessee May 16, 1964, died in the line of duty on June 15, 2003. Kirk served his community for 11 years and loved every minute of it. He was a great mentor and helped Rookies learn the skills needed to excel in their career. Kirk was a man who led by example and, in 1999, earned the Firefighter Medal of Honor for rescuing a 13-year-old girl from a burning house. For his service, there is a street and a memorial scholarship in his memory. Rest easy; We have the watch now! Til Valhalla, Brother!
