Lieutenant Stanley L. Klingenschmidt, 57, Southern Pines P.D. (SPPD), born December 7, 1955, passed away in a motorcycle accident on June 15, 2013. Klingenschmidt served as a field training officer, special response team coordinator, and firearms instructor. He is remembered as the kind of Officer others should aspire to be. Klingenschmidt was a man of faith who loved to help others. He was very involved with the Special Olympics, was an Elder in his church, and helped troubled youths get on the right track.
