In Memory OfLCpl David L. Owens

LCpl David L. Owens, 19, U.S.M.C., born June 18, 1947, passed away in a non-combat incident on October 5, 1966. Owens was a Cook with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment in Vietnam. During his time in country, he helped boost morale by preparing the best meals possible in field conditions. While Owens may not have been carrying a rifle on the front line, his ability to keep the unit's stomachs full and give them the energy to fight VC and NVA troops was just as essential. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
