LCpl Tyler O. Griffin, 19, U.S.M.C., born in Connecticut June 4, 1990, was killed in
action on April 1, 2010. After the attacks on 9/11, Griffin felt duty-bound to pick up
arms and defend our country. He served as a Rifleman with 1st Battalion, 2nd
Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division and deployed to Afghanistan in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom. While conducting a combat operation in Helmand
Province, Griffin passed away when he was struck by shrapnel from an IED. For his
service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
