LCpl Timothy M. Jackson, 22, U.S.M.C., born in Kentucky October 2, 1987, was
killed in action on September 30, 2010. Jackson served with 2nd Battalion, 9th
Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division and deployed to Afghanistan in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom. While conducting a combat operation in Helmand
Province, he passed away from shrapnel wounds when an IED was triggered.
Jackson is remembered as an outstanding Marine with a big heart who gave his
life to protect our country. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi,
