In Memory OfLCpl Joseph D. Whaley

LCpl Joseph D. Whaley, 20, U.S.M.C., born in Tennessee August 9, 2003, passed away in a training accident on August 17, 2023. After boot camp, Whaley decided to become a Recon Marine and enrolled in Basic Reconnaissance Training at Camp Pendleton. While conducting a night-time live-fire exercise, Whaley was mortally wounded from an accidental discharge. Whaley was a man of great dedication who knew how to inspire. In addition to being an all-star football player, he also made Troop 103 proud when he became an Eagle Scout. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
