LCpl Jerry R. Donatiello, 22, U.S.M.C., born in New Jersey June 27, 1945, passed away from combat-related injuries on November 20, 1967. In the Vietnam War, Donatiello was drafted and served as a Rifleman 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. While conducting a combat patrol in Quang Nam, his unit was ambushed by hostile forces. Donatiello was severely wounded by enemy small arms fire and passed away shortly after being medevaced from the battlefield. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine!
