In Memory OfLCpl George F. Adams

LCpl George F. Adams, 20, U.S.M.C., born in Massachusetts December 4, 1947, was killed in action on March 18, 1968. Adams served as a Rifleman with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in the Vietnam War. During Operation Ford, his unit was patrolling through a graveyard in Thừa Thiên-Huế when they were ambushed by enemy machine guns, mortars, and rockets. During the fierce battle, Adams was hit multiple times by small arms fire and passed away. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. Semper Fi, Marine! Til Valhalla, Brother!
