LCpl Alexander S. Arredondo, 20, U.S.M.C., born August 5, 1984, was killed in action on August 25, 2004. Arredondo served with 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment and deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. In The Battle of Najaf, his unit came under fire from a hotel full of insurgents. Arredondo provided cover fire for his men to move safely, but passed away when he was hit by a sniper. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart, the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal with "V" device, and has a post office named in his honor. Semper Fi, Marine Til Valhalla, Brother!
