In Memory OfHN Edwin Gonzalez

HN Edwin Gonzalez, 21, U.S. Navy, born February 6, 1989, was killed in action on October 8, 2010. Gonzalez was a Hospital Corpsman with 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Afghanistan. While on a patrol in Helmand Province, his unit was attacked by insurgents. During the fight, Gonzalez saw one of his men injured on the ground. As he was administering aid to the wounded Marine, he was mortally wounded by an IED detonated right next to him.
