HM1 Marvin T. Durnin, 49, U.S. Navy, born in Iowa October 3, 1946, passed from Agent Orange-related health complications on July 11, 1996. Durnin was a Hospital Corpsman and deployed to Vietnam with a Marine unit to aid wounded men. He then became an X-ray Technician and was sent all over the U.S. and Iceland as an Instructor. Durnin is remembered for his generous spirit, his love for his family, and for bowling perfect games at his favorite alley. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart with OLC.
