GySgt Richard R. Harris, 55, U.S. Marine Corps, born June 30, 1966, passed away from health complications on August 24, 2021. Harris was an infantryman, deploying to Panama, the Gulf War, Okinawa, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, later shaping Marines as an instructor and earning Rookie Recruiter of the Year. He carried the weight of Marines lost in combat long after his 22 years of service — a burden the Corps never fully prepares you to set down. He is survived by his wife Lynette, daughter Kelsey, and his family. Semper Fidelis. Til Valhalla, Brother.
