Fire Chief Patrick R. Childress, 63, Montgomery Fire Department, born December 22, 1952, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2016. After serving with the Prattville F.D., Childress joined the Montgomery F.D. and protected his city for 20 years, reaching the rank of Chief. He then became a contractor with Logistics Civil Augmentation Program III in Iraq. There, Childress provided fire protection and prevention services and trained military personnel in firefighting tactics on multiple U.S. bases. Rest easy; We have the watch now!
